2021 is the year of fruits and vegetables

Fruits and vegetables are an integral and vital part of food around the world. From Gado Gado in Indonesia to sauerkraut in Germany and guacamole in Mexico, every country and region has its favorite foods. It is fruits and vegetables that help define our culture.

The evidence is clear. Fruits and vegetables provide an important part of a healthy diet, especially for children. Growing and supporting physical, mental and social functions at all ages can prevent malnutrition.

The World Health Organization now recommends consuming at least 400 grams of fruits and vegetables each day or five 80 grams per serving. The optimal dose depends on several factors, including age, gender and level of physical activity.

Development of children

Fruits and vegetables are rich in vitamin A, calcium, iron and folate which can promote health, strengthen the baby’s immune system and help protect against disease, both now and in the future.

Longer life

According to a large study in 10 European countries, people who eat more fruits and vegetables live longer than those who do not.

Better mental health

Eating 7-8 meals a day (more than at least 5 recommended meals) is associated with a reduced risk of depression and anxiety.

Healthy heart

The fiber and antioxidants in fruits and vegetables can help prevent cardiovascular disease.

Reduce the risk of cancer

In 128 of 156 diet studies, eating fruits and vegetables reduced the risk of cancer of the lung, colon, breast, cervix, esophagus, stomach, bladder, pancreas and ovarian cancer.

Improve the immune system

Adequate consumption of fruits and vegetables reduces the severity of some infectious diseases. Although it will not protect you against a virus like COVID-19, it is better to cure infectious diseases when eating fruits and vegetables than with poor diets.

Naming 2021 the year of fruits and vegetables to promote proper consumption, reduce losses and prevent waste, support farmers and producers, is the goal of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) with awareness this year.

We at Food Lord Group are very pleased that 2021 has been selected as Year of Fruits and Vegetables by the United Nations. We hope to take an effective step to fulfill this slogan by presenting natural and organic vegetables and fruits under the Food Lord brand.

We believe that one way to treat human health and Covid-19 disease is to strengthen the human immune system by healthy vegetables and fruits. Under the light of the slogan of “The Nature Taste“, Food Lord considers this issue as one of its sublime goals.
